Hi! I’m Maria Del Russo

Hi there! I’m Maria Del Russo, a third generation Italian-American chick from New Jersey just trying to figure out where she belongs. I’ve been a writer for over a decade, contributing work to publications such as The Cut, The Washington Post, Glamour, Elle Magazine, Bustle, Playboy, where I served as the brand’s advice columnist, and Refinery29, where I wrote about my dating life in a column titled “It’s Not You.”

I’ve come a long way since my days of writing about shitty Tinder dates and my fear of being alone. Sunday Sauce is where I sit down every week and attempt to sort through the tangle of being a modern woman raised in a traditional culture. You can expect essays on femininity, culture, food, sex, love, and more. But mostly, I hope that this newsletter serves as a way for women approaching middle age to feel a little less alone. If that sounds good to you, hit the button below, and I’ll show up in your inbox every Sunday.

Thanks for being here. Cent’Anni!
